About the classes

Beginners / Post Natal Class
This series of six classes is suitable for those new to Pilates, or ladies who are 6 weeks or more post natal.
The exercise series will introduce people to the principles of Pilates, and progress them at their own speed through the basic exercises. The exercises will help to:
  • Improve posture
  • Assist with muscle tone and strength
  • Assist with weight loss
  • Improve fitness
  • Help with general psychological well being
Unfortunately, we do not have crèche facilities, so this is a baby free class, a chance for mum to escape for an hour!

Intermediate Class
This series of six classes takes the basic exercises onto the next level, challenging the strength, balance, co-ordination and flexibility of the participants. All the exercises, however, are offered at varying levels and Alison will modify them to the safest and yet still challenging for each participant - that's why she keeps the classes to small numbers.
Classes will be focused on different areas:
  • Hip and lower limb 
  • Abdominal training
  • Upper body - shoulders, neck.
  • Balance with a tending Pilates session
  • General flexibility

Ante Natal Class
Ante natal Pilates classes can be started after the first trimester (12weeks) of pregnancy. If you want to do Pilates during the first trimester it is advisable to have one to one advice as this time is the most important time for foetal development and when most miscarriages can occur so caution needs to be observed.
In the second and third trimester Pilates can help:
  • Prenatal conditioning of the pelvic floor
  • Improved postural awareness
  • Improved spinal and pelvic stability
  • Decreased pain
  • Maintenance of flexibility
  • Maintenance of circulation
  • Relaxation
Alison's antenatal classes will work through modified Pilates exercises for the different stages of your pregnancy.

Unfortunately we do not have crèche facilities, so this is a baby free class, a time for mums to escape other little ones!
